Brooke M Davis blurs the line between furniture artisan and industrial designer. Trained as both, Davis pushes the boundaries of contemporary design by utilizing cutting edge technology to create unique objects that are distinctly her own. Know for her use of CAD & CNC Machines in her iconic form development for furniture design, her work showcases a merging of mind and machine that makes traditional furniture seem obsolete.
She is internationally known for her timeless styling and the detailing work of her luxury design. Davis believes that “An object should beg to be discovered,” and that “when one is enamored with an object, experientially it transcends words.” Davis' work can be seen in annulally New York at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.
Davis equally shares a passion for Product Design and has worked on a wide variety of products for various companies. Prior to opening her own design businesses, Davis taught as a Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, LA for 5 years and at Appalachian State University where she held a one year position. Her specialties included teaching creative thinking & technical application in the design studio, materials and processes, rapid prototyping, CNC, and furniture design. |
